As we approach the autumn equinox, the year reaches a brief point of balance — day and night held in equal measure before the darker months begin their slow arrival. In many Pagan traditions, this moment is known as Mabon: a time of harvest, reflection, and gentle preparation for the season ahead.
Even if you don’t mark the equinox in a formal way, many people feel this shift. The light changes, the air cools, and there’s a quiet sense of gathering — collecting what has grown over the summer, noticing what has faded, and deciding what to carry forward.
Mabon invites us to pause and consider the places in our lives where balance feels present, and the places where it doesn’t. Not as a demand for perfection, but as a moment of honest noticing. Balance isn’t a fixed state; it’s something we move in and out of, often without realising.
This week, you might gently reflect on:
What has grown in my life recently? Not just achievements, but insights, resilience, small shifts.
What feels out of balance? Where am I stretched thin, or giving more than I have?
What needs harvesting? What can be acknowledged, celebrated, or brought to completion?
What needs releasing? What am I carrying that no longer serves me?
These questions aren’t tasks to solve. They’re invitations to meet yourself with curiosity rather than pressure.
As we move into autumn, many people find themselves wanting to reconnect with their values, rebuild consistency, or address patterns that have become harder to ignore. Therapy can be a supportive place to explore these seasonal shifts — not by forcing balance, but by understanding what your system needs in order to move toward it.
If this time of year is bringing things to the surface for you, I have availability for new clients and am here to help you steady into the months ahead.
